Hi everyone! Welcome to my page. I am a faculty member in the Liberal Studies department and the Director of the Great Valley Writing Project. I earned my doctorate in Educational Leadership here at Stanislaus State, where I have been teaching for the last ten years. I began my career in education as a baseball coach and substitute teacher. I then went on to teach in the English Department, and I am currently teaching for the Liberal Studies program.

In terms of education, I am currently interested in charter schools, indoctrination versus learning how to think, and human development (agency, victimization). Influential academics for me currently are Glenn Loury, John McWhorter, and Thomas Sowell. I am engaged to the beautiful, funny, and intelligent Annie. We have two "daughters"—Kona, a Yellow Labrador, and Finley, a Yellow Labrador. We also just welcomed a “son” into our family—Rocky, a ten-year old gelding. I love coffee, running, cycling, swimming, lifting, reading, writing, baseball, chocolate, Mexican food, teaching, gardening, learning about horses and ranching, and taking walks through the neighborhood.
